Ministry of Health’s national roll out of the EMS Prioritisation Tool

Enable New Zealand is currently preparing for the Ministry of Health’s national roll out of the Equipment & Modification Services (EMS) Prioritisation Tool on 11 August 2014. To support the service users, there are some exciting changes happening around this roll out which will need to be implemented at the same time.

The changes will include the following:

  • Change in the role of the EMS Advisor (previously known as Professional Advisor) and the Housing Advisor
  • Updated forms
  • Process changes once a service request (previously known as an application) has been submitted
  • On Line submission of service requests for Band 1, Band 2, Band 3 equipment and Basic Housing modifications.  It is anticipated that this ‘Enable On-Line’ service will be available by 11 August to align with the Prioritisation Tool launch. Further information will be made available as we progress towards this date.

Enable New Zealand has prepared a transition plan to ensure everything continues to run as smoothly as possible in all our regions. As part of this plan, we will be sending out regular communications over the next few months to keep you up to date and to support you during  the changes.  We are looking forward to working with you in a supportive and collaborative partnership to ensure a smooth transition.

If you need to ask us any questions regarding the implementation and the service changes please feel free to use the ASK A QUESTION box in As Enable New Zealand is also working to understand the changes, this will give us the opportunity to consider and respond to your queries and also collate a record of FAQs which we can communicate to all EMS Assessors.
