Changes to Vehicle Modifications
The Vehicle Purchase and Modifications Credential recognises that Occupational Therapists undertaking driving assessment and rehabilitation require specialist knowledge and training. This knowledge allows the Occupational Therapist to provide appropriate advice and recommendations related to driving safety, driving techniques, vehicle modifications and equipment needs.
The Ministry of Health, with the support from ACC, has reviewed and updated the Vehicle Purchase and Modifications Competency Framework. The framework is managed by Enable New Zealand on behalf of the Ministry of Health and is recognised by ACC as a requirement for ACC Transport for Independence Assessors.
