Vehicle Purchase & Modifications Level 2

Overview
The Vehicle Purchase and Modifications Credential Level 2 recognises that Occupational Therapists undertaking driving assessment and rehabilitation requires specialist knowledge and training. This knowledge allows the therapist to provide appropriate advice and recommendations related to driving safety, driving techniques, vehicle modifications and equipment needs.
How do I become a credentialed assessor for Vehicle Purchase & Modifications Level 2?
You must hold Vehicle Purchase & Modifications Level 1 and be the following health professional to apply for this category:
- Occupational Therapist (2 years post basic experience in physical (rehabilitation or acute) occupation therapy)
Eligible Health Professionals wishing to become a Credentialed Vehicle Purchase & Modifications Level 2 EMS Assessor will need to successfully complete requirements as outlined in the Competency Framework via EMS Assessor Online before making a service request to Enable New Zealand.
Vehicle Assessors are required to have linkages with a Wheelchair and Seating Level 1 Assessor as per the Indicators for Liaison between Vehicle Assessors and Wheelchair and Seating Assessors.

Vehicle Purchase & Modifications Level 2 has an optional module for drive from wheelchair or joystick technology, refer to the Competency Framework for further information.
