Employer Responsibility

When making an application for an Approved Assessor area, the employer will need to complete a declaration that they support the assessor application, providing contact details for the employer/assessing service.

The employer/supervisor maintains responsibility for ensuring the EMS Assessor holds an annual practising certificate or membership to professional association required.

Meeting accreditation requirements

Before making an application for a credentialed area, assessors will need to successfully complete learning and development requirements, depending on the particular credentialing area concerned.   In all cases, the employer is expected to endorse the application and monitor the ongoing competence of the assessor.

Note the definition of employer/supervisor is the person(s) responsible for supervsing the assessor, employing the assessor or has accounatbility for professional standards.  Where a person is self-employed, they will be required to have a supervisor.
