Hearing Services
Audiologists and Audiometrists: How to request Ministry of Health funding for hearing aid services from 1 July 2016
- be a full member of the New Zealand Audiological Society, and
- hold a current Certificate of Clinical Competence, and
- be registered as an Approved Assessor as per the Equipment and Modification Services (EMS) Approved Assessor Accreditation Framework managed by Enable New Zealand.
Enable New Zealand will continue to deliver the services as outlined in the Ministry of Health, Hearing Aid Manual Part One and will continue to manage and monitor services as defined in the Hearing Aid Services Notice 2011 (issued under Section 88 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000). Part two of the manual is currently under revision to incorporate the processes as administered by Enable New Zealand.
We will be holding a series of orientation and training workshops in main centres of New Zealand through June and will notify you of the dates and venues as they are confirmed. There will also be a range of training materials available on-line to support the transition to Enable New Zealand’s systems and processes.
