In August 2010 the Ministry of Health introduced an Accreditation Framework for health professionals undertaking assessments that may then result in applications for equipment and modification services for people with disabilities.

The Ministry of Health Accreditation Framework has three categories of accreditation for access to Ministry funded equipment and modification services. Accreditation is valid for a three year period from the date it is approved.

In April 2012 the Online Application system for EMS Assessors to apply for accreditation was introduced.  The system will ensure all required information is supplied and that the employer/supervisor supports the application.
